Papa’s House – January 2020

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with THANKSGIVING, present your REQUESTS to GOD. And the PEACE of GOD, which Transcends All understanding, will Guard your Hearts and your minds in CHRIST JESUS.” – Philippians 4:6-7

As another year has ended, it is Honoring to our Savior Christ that with Thankful heart to take a moment to turn around to look at the fruitful year that’s gone by and then pushing ourselves to move ahead to face the challenges in the coming year with a positive attitude. Sometimes it’s easy to take everything we have for granted. Our minds can get so wrapped up in our struggles and all the things we need and Plan to do during an entire year that we forget to Thank God for all the good things He’s provided us. It does remind us that everything we have is because of Him. So whether we have encountered every bump on the road today or we have had a good day filled with blessings, let us make sure to take the time to Pray and Thank Him for His love.

We thank our Lord God for all the blessings that he showers upon us year after year.
With great pleasure, we present to you the monthly report of Papa’s House for the month of January 2020

We prayerfully started our Holy Word Schools first classes of the year 2020 and also exchanging warm wishes of New Year with all our precious student’s of our school and our Staff.

Next, we started preparing to observe and to celebrate two important National auspicious days of 23rd January – the Birth Anniversary of our Netaji Subash Chandra Bose and 26th January- India’s Republic Day.

An art/Drawing competition was held on 20th January the theme of which was ‘Freedom Fighters of our country’ and the ‘The Republic Day’. All the students participated in enthusiastically. All the necessary supplies including the art/Drawing papers, pencils, erasers and colours were provided by the school. The best drawings were showcased on the activity board of our school with the Support of Revival Fires.

On 23rd January we celebrated the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose to commemorate his contribution to India’s struggle for independence. We started our program by singing the National Anthem of our country. Next, our respected Principal George Khati Sir enlightened us with a speech based on the life of Netaji and his service towards our country. After that, a few of the students had delivered their speeches. Next, we held a small activity, where we discussed the things that we get to learn from the life of such freedom fighters and also how we should aim ourselves to become the best version of ourselves so that we can contribute for the betterment of our country. We concluded our program by distributing snacks and chocolates among the students.

On the 24th of January, the students of Papa’s House participated in a socially useful productive work (SUPW). A safe village awareness program was organised in Dhamgunj village of Jalpaiguri district by, Light House Disha organisation together with the help of Panchayat and block development office and the government home officials. The children of Papa’s House along with the members of Light House presented a skit on ‘Human Trafficking’ to present possible threats and prevention measures on the same. It was a great way to let few of the Papa’s House children get involved and engage them in such activities where they got to learn about one of the most burning problems of our society through a fun activity.

On the 26th of January, Republic day was celebrated with all its solemnity. The students saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity, a diversity that is India. Our respected Principal George Sir delivered an outstanding speech on this special occasion by addressing students and urging them to do their best and feel proud to be Indians the biggest democracy in the world. The students then presented a patriotic song to grace the occasion, the whole school joined the choir and the song reverberated in the surrounding. It was then followed by a beautiful Bengali folk dance performed by a number of students. Next another patriotic dance was performed by a group of students. The melodious music and the movements of the dancers were amazing. We concluded our program by distributing snacks among the students and staffs. The students dispersed after snacks with the picture of fluttering tricolour in their minds.

They presented the Gospel dance number which exalted the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ the Immanuel. This was an awesome and exciting moment to share the Gospel and the birth of Christ in front of more than 2000 plus gathering.
